The AECC brings together patients, their families, volunteers and professionals, all working together towards a common cause. The AECC’s mission is to fight cancer by leading Spanish society’s efforts to reduce the impact of this disease and improve people’s lives.

Jury ruling

Following a meeting of the jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes for Social Commitment, after lengthy deliberation and a very close vote, the Spanish Association Against Cancer has been declared the winner.

An organisation founded in 1953, which has since carried out admirable work in three key areas:
(1) Informing and raising awareness amongst the general public through cancer prevention campaigns and programmes
(2) Supporting and accompanying patients and their families
(3) Promoting research to consolidate the Spanish Association Against Cancer’s position as a leading body in the funding of Spanish cancer research.
