Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize in Economics, meeting in Valencia, has decided by a majority to award the 2021 prize to Mr Antonio Cabrales Goitia.

For his contributions in the fields of game theory, behavioural and experimental economics, and the analysis of social networks. His early work focused on analysing the dynamics of economic environments. Building on this, his most recent contributions centre on adaptive dynamics, or, if you prefer, dynamics of bounded rationality. His interest extends beyond this to a wide range of public policy areas – such as education, health and labour – for the analysis of which he utilises a varied arsenal of techniques rooted in economic theory. To this must be added his regular presence in the media, guiding and contributing to the discussion of the main issues facing the Spanish economy.
