Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes for Urban Planning, Landscape and Sustainability, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2009 prize to Mr Joan Nogué Font.

For his scientific contribution to our understanding of the landscape and its natural and cultural values, which form the basis of urban planning and land-use policies committed to sustainability.

Added to this is his vital work in raising public awareness, without which a democratic society cannot achieve environmentally and culturally sustainable urban development and landscape.
