Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes for Urban Planning, Landscape and Sustainability, meeting in Castellón, has unanimously decided to award the 2005 prize to Mr Fernando de Terán Troyano.

Through his work in social research, which integrates landscape and environmental aspects into urban planning, he has anticipated current concerns regarding sustainability. In these activities, whose influence has extended across a large part of the country, the award winner’s distinctive personality has been evident in his threefold role as a lecturer, publisher of magazines and books, and urban designer.
