Jury ruling

The jury for the Rey Jaime I New Technologies Prize, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2013 prize to Mr Antonio González Colás.

This is in recognition of his outstanding work in computer architecture, with significant contributions in the areas of processor performance, techniques to reduce their energy consumption and improve the dissipation of the heat they generate. Furthermore, techniques to mitigate transistor degradation and innovative techniques to increase the parallelism of applications.

Not only has his work had a significant impact on the scientific community, but it has also yielded important socio-economic and industrial results. The code planning techniques he has developed have been used by various companies to improve their compilers.
