Jury rulingThe jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize for Environmental Protection, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2007 prize to Mr Damià Barceló Cullerés.
For his contribution to the development of methods for controlling pollutants in waste water and natural water bodies.
His work has resulted in a considerable number of international R&D&I projects and high-impact scientific publications. Furthermore, he has trained young researchers and edited texts analysing and defending the ecosystem, making him a role model in such a significant year as this, the International Year of the Environment.
