Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize for Biomedical Research, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2013 prize to Mr Jesús San Miguel Izquierdo.

For being a leading figure in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple myeloma, leukaemias and lymphomas.

He has adopted a translational medicine model, linking Basic Research with clinical teams to ensure that discoveries are rapidly translated into patient care. He has promoted this translational model within national and international networks.
