Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes for Clinical Medicine, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2004 prize to Mr Antonio Pellicer Martínez.

This is in recognition of the excellence of his clinical, research and academic work, and for having been a pioneer in assisted human reproduction techniques.

It was deemed highly appropriate to award the prize in recognition of his contributions to the field of human infertility treatment, which he has tackled with courage and creativity, establishing himself as a leading figure not only nationally but also internationally.

He has paved the way for Spain to become a leading nation in the field of regenerative medicine.
