Jury rulingThe jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes in Economics, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2011 prize to Mr Daniel Peña Sánchez de Rivera.
He has had a long and distinguished career as a researcher, developing methods of dynamic factor analysis for macroeconomic forecasting, the detection of outliers in economic models, and classification methods for large-scale databases in economics and management.
He has an excellent list of publications in leading journals in statistics and econometrics and has played an important role in the research community in Spain and Europe.
