Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Economics Prize, meeting in Alicante, has unanimously decided to award the 2006 prize to Mr Luis Angel Rojo Duque.

In recognition of his exemplary work as a university lecturer and his dedication to economic research whilst heading the Research Department of the Bank of Spain.  For the impact of his work on the practical application of economics in the public sector through his positions of responsibility and leadership at the Bank of Spain, and his effective contribution to national economic modernisation, particularly through his role in Spain’s accession to the European Monetary Union.
