Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Economics Prize, meeting in Alicante, has unanimously decided to award the 2003 prize to Mr Pedro Schwartz Girón.

In recognition of his academic and professional contributions in the fields of teaching and theoretical research. Particularly in the fields of the history of economic thought and economic theory and policy, as well as in the fields of methodology and the theory of knowledge. His significant public profile and his work in promoting the ideas of the free market and free competition have also been taken into account.
