Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize for Basic Research, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 1992 prize to Mr Carlos Belmonte Martínez.

This is in recognition of his research into sensory neurophysiology, as well as the neural regulation of intraocular pressure. Among other roles, he is President-elect of the International Society of Eye Research and of the Spanish Society for Neurosciences at the University of Alicante.
