The New Technologies Jury of the King Jaume I Awards has decided unanimously award the award in its 2023 edition to Daniel Maspoch Comamala. With a successful balance between fundamental and applied research, his work focuses on the advancement of Nanotechnology and Chemistry for the design and development of Porous and Reticular Materials Substance Release Systems for different applications. In addition to its multiple patents, Maspoch has numerous contracts with the private sector to carry out its technology to the general public through new platforms. Specifically, the jury highlights its achievements in the administration of drugs, for the treatment of diseases such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy; the development of technology biodegradable microencapsulation, in addition to its great dedication to personnel training researcher and talent attraction.
