PhD in Physics. Professor at the University of Valencia and President of the Spanish Remote Sensing Association.
The only Spanish member of the Advisory Group for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) LSTM mission (the future Sentinel-8 satellite) and of the scientific committee for the Franco-Indian TRISHNA mission. Member (the only Spaniard) of the Earth Science Advisory Committee (ESA), contributing to the selection of the CryoSat 2, EARTHCARE and SWARM missions.
Over 300 publications, 13,367 citations, more than 40 research projects and principal investigator on over 60 projects. Guest editor for international journals (and a member of the Advisory Council Board for various international journals). He is a member of the Expert Panel evaluating National (PNE) and International (EU) scientific programmes, as well as those of the ESA, DAS (Denmark), AERES (France), GRF (Germany), NERC (UK), BELSPO (Belgium) and ISF (Israel).
