Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Economics Prize, meeting in Altea (Alicante), has unanimously decided to award the 2000 prize to Mr José B. Terceiro Lomba.

This is in recognition of his outstanding achievements across a wide range of fields within economic science, and in particular in structural and quantitative analysis, studies of the informal economy, and forecasting the consequences of advances in the digital and information economy. This work, along with others, has had a significant influence on recent changes in Spanish society, in terms of its modernisation and economic revitalisation, as well as in the academic sphere where he teaches and presents the results of his experimental research.
