Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize for Basic Research, meeting in Castellón, has unanimously decided to award the 2005 prize to Mr José Barluenga Mur.

For his pioneering work in organic chemistry. He is a highly creative and innovative scientist, whose research has opened up new areas of investigation in the chemistry of organometallic compounds, developing new reagents for processes that are widely used around the world.
