Jury rulingThe jury for the Rei Jaume I Prize for Biomedical Research, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2010 prize to Mr José Mir Pallardó.
He has established a liver transplant team that serves as a benchmark both nationally and internationally. With a total of 1,680 transplants, it is the leading centre in Spain, accounting for 10 per cent of all national transplants and 1 per cent of global cases. He has published more than 250 papers in national and international journals and has developed numerous transplant protocols to further improve outcomes.
