Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Economics Prize, meeting in Castellón, has unanimously decided to award the 2002 prize to Mr Luis Gámir Casares.

This is in recognition of his outstanding professional contributions, both in the field of teaching and in that of theoretical and empirical research. In particular, his studies on privatisation policy in Spain. His broad perspectives on the economy and related policies have been developed through their application to Spain’s economic reality. This knowledge is of particular relevance and provides a sound basis for generating important practical research studies on contemporary issues.
