PhD in Chemistry from the Universitat Jaume I (Castellón). Head of the Polymer Therapeutics Laboratory and Coordinator of the Cancer Program. She serves as Scientific Director for certain institutional tasks. Príncipe Felipe Research Center (CIPF).

She is the Scientific Director of the CIPF Screening Platform (EU-OpenScreen Specialist EU-OpenScreen) and has coordinated the Cancer Program at the CIPF since 2024, also serving as Scientific Director for requested institutional tasks. She is a manager at the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) in Materials for Biomedicine, serves on numerous International Advisory Boards (e.g., CURAM (Ireland), FormulaEx (Sweden)) and on the Executive Board of the Controlled Release Society (CRS), of which she is the elected president. Since 2023, she has been Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious journal Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (Elsevier).

He has 158 publications and holds 15 patents (6 licensed). In 2012, he co-founded Polypeptide Therapeutic Solutions SL (now Curapath), an internationally renowned CDMO with over 100 employees in Valencia and Boston.

Dr. María Jesús Vicent Docón is a multidisciplinary researcher with fundamental pioneering contributions at the interface of Chemistry, Material Science, Biology, and Clinical Sciences. She has succeeded in creating highly innovative, impactful, and personalized nanotherapeutic platforms for effective drug delivery targeting cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders, which affect millions worldwide. She has proven the capability of polymer therapeutics to deliver drug combinations and she has implemented novel methodologies to synthesize well-controlled, versatile, and high-quality nanostructures, resulting in several patents and co-founding a successful spin-off company. She has demonstrated leadership in tackling difficult medical challenges by taking the risk of building bridges between different disciplines to develop cutting-edge technologies and embarking on entrepreneurial activities to achieve positive societal impact.
