Jury ruling

The jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes for Basic Research, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2007 prize to Ms María A. Blasco Marhuenda.

For her extraordinary discoveries in molecular biology and, in particular, for her studies on telomerase, which have shed light on the remarkable mechanism of the retinoblastoma tumour suppressor gene.
