Jury rulingThe jury for the Rei Jaume I Prizes in Economics, meeting in Valencia, has unanimously decided to award the 2010 prize to Mr Rafael Repullo.
In recognition of his professional career in teaching and research in economic theory. Much of his recent work has focused on banking issues as well as other aspects of financial markets and their regulation. He has proved himself to be one of Spain’s leading specialists in this field, and as director of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI), he has carried out cutting-edge financial research and made a significant contribution to the training of many of the finest economists of the current generation.
